Wound Care

We Specialize in Chronic Wound Care Treatment

The general expectation is that a wound should reduce in size by 50% after 4 weeks of standard treatment. The longer a chronic wound goes untreated, the greater risk of infection, amputation and other infections. We have partnered with the nation’s leading experts in comprehensive chronic wound care.

Our physicians use the latest, most effective treatments in today’s medicine to increase healing time for diabetic ulcers, bed sores, venous ulcers, minor burns, foot ulcers, and arterial ulcers.

Amniotic Membrane Allograft

Amniotic membrane allograft serves as a natural scaffold with an intact basement membrane that has been found to support a high level of fibroblast and keratinocyte attachment. Amniotic membrane acts as a barrier membrane during the wound regeneration process and supports tissue growth.

This membrane consists of 2 layers, the amnion layer, which is rich in collagen and the chorion layer, which is a thick collagen dense layer. The amniotic membrane also contains biologically active cells, regenerative molecules and multiple types of growth factors.

Wound Healing Properties of Amniotic Membrane

Amniotic membrane has a number of characteristics that make it especially suited to wound healing.

  Reduces Pain

  Significant Number of Cytokines

  Increases Wound Healing Process

  Antibacterial Properties

  Provides a Biological Barrier

  Reduces Inflammation
  Non-Immunogenic
  Reduces Scar Tissue Formation

80,000 Adults with Diabetes Undergo Amputation Due to Non-Healing Wounds Every Year

Each year, about 80,000 adults with diabetes undergo a leg or foot amputation due to a non-healing wound. 80% of which started with an ulcer. Treating these ulcers early and with the most appropriate would healing management is key to avoiding amputation. Because of our investment in advanced wound care and research, our patients heal faster than those who receive only generalized wound care.
